Sra. Gallegos - Spanish
December
Nuestra Seņora de Guadelupe
December 12th
In December we celebrate La Virgen de Guadelupe or Nuestra
Seņora de Guadelupe. Nuestra Seņora de Guadelupe is a strong
symbol of faith in Mexico and represents the tie between indigenous
culture and Catholicism. While some of us may celebrate Nuestra
Seņora de Guadelupe once a year, she is part of a daily celebration
of faith for many.
6th Graders
6th graders are writing about animals and themselves. We
will be completing a short writing project in the next couple of weeks.
7th Graders
7th graders are coming close to the end of Unit 1. A study
guide will be going home before the unit test.
8th Graders
8th graders are moving on to Unit 2 in the textbook.
Students should expect Spanish to be more of a challenge as we are
moving into new material.
GRADE LOGS:
7TH & 8TH graders have yellow grade logs. They
should be keeping track of their grades and bringing grade logs home to
be signed on occasion.
TEXTBOOKS:
If your child accidentally brings home a Spanish textbook, please be
sure to send it back right away. We have just the right number and do
not want to be short.
My goals for all students are as follows:
-
to practice faith through prayer in Spanish
-
to teach students skills which will allow them to express
themselves as individuals in the Spanish language
-
to provide an awareness of, understanding of & respect for the
diverse cultures in the Spanish speaking world
-
to prepare students for success in high school and in the global
world beyond high school
