The 8th grade students did a
terrific job this year for the Science Invention Convention. Many
of the judges complimented our students on their display boards,
prototypes, and presentations. The judges stated the students were
very prepared and had many novel ideas to solve practical problems.
They also complimented our students on their respect and positive
attitudes they showed the judges. The students should be very proud
of their accomplishments!
In February, the students will be
continuing their study of living things. They will be studying
about viruses and bacteria.
The students will be also be working
in the text, Animals. They will begin their study with
simple animals such as sponges and cnidarians. The students will
study the balance of life on coral reefs. One of the lab activities
will be to predict and measure what type of sponge will absorb the
most water by volume per gram. |
