Room 207 Newsletter
Mrs. Linehan May 12, 2008
Wow!
It’s May and the students in room 207 are going to be so busy for
the remainder of the year. While we have many exciting events
occurring the students must stay focused on their school work.
Religion: Fr. Brendan spent 45 minutes with the students of room
207 recently answering many, many of their questions. We were so
blessed to have him with us. Currently we are discussing the
vocations of the Catholic Church. During the month of May we will
honor Mary and attend the May Crowning that is a wonderful tradition
we celebrate at our parish school.
Math:
We will continue with fractions and long division as well as
introduce geometry.
Social
Studies: This Friday is the final test on the Mountain states. We
will conclude the year by studying the Pacific States. THE REGIONAL
FAIR IS WEDNESDAY, MAY 7 FROM 6:30 TO 7:30. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD
THERE ON TIME. EVERYTHING WILL BE SET UP FROM THE AFTERNOON
PRESENTATIONS.
Reading: We are completing “Who Stole the Wizard of OZ” and our
mystery unit. For the remainder of the year students will be
reading an assortment of literary genre stories from their reader.
Writing: In conjunction with the mystery unit in reading, students
are creating and writing their own mystery stories. We will
complete the year writing poetry.
Science: Students are studying rocks and minerals. They are
fascinating! Ask your child about the difference between rocks and
minerals and to describe the different types of rocks.
